Langley Burger Month runs all through October, and this is the second year of it. Nineteen independent restaurants, nineteen burgers you cannot order any other month, $22 each, and a portion of every one sold going to the Langley Food Bank.
We are in it again. Here is what we built, what everyone else built, and how the passport works — because four stamps gets you into the prize draw and most people find that out on about the twenty-ninth.
Ours: the Truffle Forest Burger
A six-ounce beef patty, melted Gruyere, sauteed mushrooms, truffle-garlic mayo, pickled and crispy shallots, and a finish of hot honey, on brioche. Salted chips on the side. Earthy and savoury most of the way through, with the sweet heat arriving late.
It is $22 and it is on until 31 October. It lives next to the Boot Scoot’n Burner on our board, which is the other $22 burger and the one to order if you would rather be punched in the mouth by habanero than charmed by mushrooms. Both are on thetasting room menu.
What to drink with it
The truffle and Gruyere want something clean rather than something loud. OurGerman Pilsner — first place at the British Columbia Beer Awards in 2022 — cuts through it properly. If you would rather go the other way, the Everyday Hazy Pale Ale leans into the hot honey. Undecided is a solved problem: the flight of four is $11.

Five of the nineteen are breweries or taprooms, which tells you something about where Langley has ended up. Check each restaurant’s own hours before you drive out — a kitchen often closes before the room does.
How the passport works
Simple, and worth doing properly if you are going to eat more than one of these anyway.
- Pick up a passport at any participating restaurant. We have them at the bar.
- Collect a stamp for each Burger Month burger you eat.
- Get to four or more stamps, fill in your name, email and mailing address, and drop the passport off at any participating restaurant by 7 November.
- That is one entry in the grand prize draw, which is a one-night hotel stay with breakfast for two plus four $25 gift cards.
Voting is separate and needs no purchase — Best Tasting, Best Presentation and Most Unique, online, closing31 October. One entry per person however you enter.
Where the money goes
A portion of every Burger Month burger sold across all nineteen restaurants goes to the Langley Food Bank. October is when their demand starts climbing toward the winter, so the timing is not an accident.
It is a good month to eat a burger with no particular justification needed, which is roughly our whole business model.
