Diwali on Tap: the Festival of Lights comes to the taproom
Saturday 24 October, 6:30pm. Live music, Bollywood trivia, bingo, a 50/50 raffle and a DJ, in a Langley brewery done up for Diwali — with a portion of proceeds going to the Langley Food Bank.

Diwali is the festival of lights, and the part that travels best is not the fireworks — it is the bit where everybody ends up in one room eating and arguing about music. That is a taproom’s native format, so we are doing it properly.
Diwali on Tap lands on Saturday 24 October. Doors at 6:00pm, the night starts at 6:30pm, and it runs to 11:00pm. It is hosted by Vancouver Desi Events, andtickets are on Eventbrite.
What is actually on
- Live music — singers through the first half of the night.
- A DJ after that, which is when the floor stops being a floor.
- Bollywood trivia, for the people who have opinions about which decade was best.
- Bingo, played seriously.
- A 50/50 raffle.
Dress for it if you want to. Plenty of people will, and the room looks considerably better for it.
A note on the date
Diwali itself falls on Sunday 8 November in 2026 — the festival moves with the lunar calendar. We are lighting things up a fortnight early, on the Saturday night that actually suits a room full of people who have to work on Monday.
What to drink
Twelve taps, and a few of them suit the night better than others. TheGerman Pilsner is clean enough to sit beside anything spiced — it took first place at the British Columbia Beer Awards in 2022. The India Pale Ale is the one to order if the food is doing the heavy lifting and you want the beer to argue back. Baadshah Malt Masala IPA is on the shelf too, and if ever there was a night for it, this is it.
Not drinking? Daylight Lager is 0.5% ABV and tastes like a lager rather than an apology. We pour two non-alcoholic beers, and four-packs are $10.99 to take home.
Giving something back
A portion of the proceeds from the night goes to the Langley Food Bank. Diwali is about sharing what you have, and November is when their shelves start getting thin.
Getting here
20555 56 Ave #5, Langley City, BC V3A 3Y9. We are open until 11:00pm on Saturdays, so the night runs right to close. Parking is on site.
